Jerry Ricks (1940–2007) was an American blues guitarist and singer, known for his dedication to preserving traditional acoustic blues. Born in Philadelphia, Ricks was heavily influenced by the Piedmont and Delta blues styles. A talented fingerpicker, he studied under and performed with legendary blues artists like Skip James, Son House, and Lightnin' Hopkins. His music honored the roots of blues, with a repertoire that included heartfelt interpretations of classic blues songs and his own compositions. Often called a "blues historian," Ricks was celebrated for his authenticity and passion for keeping the blues tradition alive.
