Etta Baker

Etta Baker (1913–2006) was an American Piedmont blues guitarist and singer celebrated for her intricate fingerpicking style and enduring influence on folk and blues music. Born in North Carolina, she began playing guitar at a young age and became a master of the Piedmont style, blending blues, ragtime, and folk traditions. Her songs, such as "Railroad Bill" and "One Dime Blues," showcased her skillful technique and soulful expression. Though she began recording later in life, Baker's music inspired countless musicians and preserved the legacy of traditional blues for future generations.
